Partnerships for Teacher Professional Development: A Cohort Model

Meeting the needs of teachers, schools and school divisions.

Earn a Professional Diploma in Applied Psychology: Inclusive and Special Education.

Do you want to increase your capacity in inclusive and special education?
The University of Calgary knows that teachers, schools and school divisions today serve an increasingly diverse student population.

Build your capacity in partnership with us
The U of C Faculty of Education can provide you with the professional development you need – no matter where you live – through Partnerships for Teacher Professional Development, Canada's only cohort model for the delivery of a post-graduate professional diploma in inclusive and special education. The online professional diploma is designed to equip teachers with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively to the challenges of diverse students.

Tailor our program to meet your needs
Schools and school divisions can partner with the faculty's division of applied psychology to tailor the professional diploma for a cohort of teachers. Our cohort model lets teachers work alone and/or collaboratively on projects and assignments that match their personal and professional interests while helping schools and school divisions build staff capacity in inclusive and special education. We also welcome applications from individual teachers not associated with a cohort. Regardless of the option chosen, the diploma can be completed in as little as 16 months.
