UPDATE: Science Libguide is complete with children's literature suggestions for all topics in the elementary grades.

Yet ANOTHER addition to our libguides (they just keep growing!). Elementary students will want to check out the Science Education (Elementary) Libguide to learn about all sorts of different kinds of resources useful in teaching science. It's a work in progress, so Tammy will continue to add to it, especially to the "Children's Literature and Science" section where, so far, she's focused only on grades 1 & 6.

Our libguide collection has grown again, with the addition of a guide about Videos for Education. It will help you find educational videos both about teaching and for use in your classrooms. We'd be very interested in feedback about whether these are useful - so please email doucinfo [at] ucalgary [dot] ca with any comments or suggestions.

The Doucette Library now has a blog! Called Apples with Many Seeds (did you know that’s the meaning of pomegranate?) it’s full of the seeds of great ideas about resources that can provide inspiration for your lessons.

The Doucette Library of Teaching Resources supports the unique needs of undergraduate teacher-preparation students through its collections, circulation and reference services and workshops for BEd classes.

The collection includes…

• professional materials about teaching and learning
• Alberta curriculum documents
• children's and young adult literature
• teaching resources in many different formats for use ECS to High School (English and French)
• theses and dissertations written in the Faculty.

Personnel from the Faculty of Education Technology Support Unit are available at scheduled hours in the Doucette Library, to consult about technical problems.
