Holds may be placed on materials already on loan to another patron. The hold ensures that the item cannot be renewed and will be returned at the end of the two (2) week loan.
You can place a hold through the UofC Library Catalogue by clicking on the blue ‘place hold’ button in the ‘details’ tab of a catalogue record. Holds can only be placed on items that are currently checked out. If the Doucette copy is currently signed out, but the system won’t let you place a hold, please contact the Doucette Circulation Desk (link to Contact Us page) and staff will place a hold for you.
You may view your holds through your "My Library" account.
Picking up Holds
When you receive notification that the item you requested is available, you must pick it up within seven (7) days. Holds are held on the shelf on the front of the Doucette Circulation Desk, in alphabetical order by customer’s last name.
