Who Can Borrow from the Doucette Library

Who Can Borrow?
  • U of C students, staff and faculty
Any student currently registered in credit, or continuing education, programs at the University of Calgary may borrow all materials from the Doucette Library, EXCEPT those covered by the restricted materials policy.  Restricted materials are only available to current Faculty of Education students.

Your U of C ONEcard  (or Continuing Education ID Card) is your library card. You can obtain your ONEcard from the Campus Security Card Issuing Office in Room 260, MacEwan Student Centre (across from the Student Union Offices)

  • Alumni and Community readers
Alumni and community readers can borrow everything except restricted materials from the Doucette Library. Alumni cards are free; community reader cards require payment of an annual fee. Both must be activated at the Taylor  Library (TFDL) service desk.
  • Member of an Alberta Library (University, Public or College)

Students, staff and faculty from Mount Royal University, Ambrose University College, St. Mary's University, Bow Valley College, Alberta College of Art and Design  and members of Calgary Public Library .

If you belong to any of these libraries, or any other Alberta Library that participates in The Alberta Library (TAL) program, you can borrow a limited number of books from the Doucette Library.  You cannot borrow restricted materials.

 Before you come, make sure that 1) you have obtained a TAL Card from your home library and 2) have activated your TAL card at the Taylor Library (TFDL) Service Desk.

With a TAL card you:

  • Can have up to 5 books on your library card at a time
  • Cannot renew materials
  • Must return the materials directly to the Doucette library
