Awards & Funding
The Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) at the University of Calgary provide a range of financial assistance to students in GDER. This support includes:
- Scholarships awarded through the University of Calgary Open Scholarship Competition (OSC)
- Various scholarships and Bursaries open to graduate students through the FGS Graduate Awards Database Search Engine
- Bursaries awarded through the Graduate Student Association (GSA)
- GDER-Specific Awards – adjudicated by the GDER Awards Committee
- Research Grants available through UofC Research Services
- External funding agencies, i.e., Gallagher Galileo Network, Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council(SSHRC), Killam Trust
All graduate students may search the Graduate Awards Database at the Faculty of Graduate Studies for scholarships and awards they may be eligible for.
Students in thesis-based programs are encouraged to apply to the Open Scholarship Competition and any external funding agencies for which they are eligible.
