Newly Admitted Students

Welcome January 2010 intake!

Welcome to GDER, one of the largest graduate units in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Calgary.

You have been admitted to one of our course-based programs starting in January. Approximately, 130 new students will be joining GDER at this time.

What is the Letter of Admission?

If you received the Letter of Admission via email, you can consider yourself admitted to the program and specialization area specified in your letter. Please review your letter carefully. Make note of your UCID number, your program, specialization area, and the name of your supervisor and graduate program administrator.

Should you have any questions regarding this offer, please do not hesitate to contact your graduate program administrator who sent you the admission letter and whose name is in that letter.

Please keep checking your email, as you will continue to receive communication from your graduate program administrator and/or the GDER office about upcoming orientation sessions and registration details.

Orientation Sessions for New Students

Please plan to attend one of the Orientation to Online Delivery Tools in GDER and one of the Welcome to GDER sessions.

Admission Acceptance and eID Registration

You will also find attached to your email some guidelines regarding admission acceptance and registration. Read more about these procedures on the Upon Admission page.

Course Tracking Form

With your admission letter you have received a copy of the Student Course Tracking Form appropriate for your program. This form is intended to help you with your course planning while you are in program. Please check off courses and requirements as you complete them. If you did not save or lost your copy of this form, please feel free to request another copy from your graduate program administrator.

Course Registration for Winter 2010

Please be advised that most courses are currently full. To accommodate the January 2010 intake, the GDER office has set aside five spaces in all Winter courses. The spaces will be released shortly after the second Welcome to GDER session (expected date: November 17).
