EDER 619.33 Professional Development

Overview: 

This course offers students the opportunity to investigate the professional development of adults. Those who have an interest in schools and other organizations will find relevance in the readings. It predominantly explores school-based and other organizational literature in relation to trends and issues in designing, establishing and evaluating professional development in schools and other organizations. Foundational and current theories on how adults learn and transfer their learning into regular practice; and processes, structures and contexts that support their learning will be included. Implications for leaders in terms of the challenge of sustaining sound professional development are included.
