EDER 655.07 Struggle for Democracy

Overview: 

An examination of issues and case studies dealing with democracy in schools and societies at local, provincial, national, and international levels.  Preparing young people for the citizenship role is a formidable responsibility in our kaleidoscopic and rapidly changing world.  The nature of the struggle, the implementation of democratic practices, the protection of human rights, the development of trust, and the creation of conscientious, efficacious, interested, caring and active citizens, must be addressed.
