The Faculty of Education is home to several centres and institutes
engaged in collaborative, multidisciplinary research, teaching,
professional development and community outreach activities involving
students, researchers and partners on and off campus.
Canadian Centre for Studies in Higher Education (CCSHE)
The Canadian
Centre for Studies in Higher Education is an interdisciplinary centre,
established in October 2006, to generate research, study and discussion
on learners, learning and leadership in higher education.
Centre for Gifted Education
The Centre for Gifted Education is the only
centre of its kind in Canada and recognized internationally for
excellence in assisting gifted children with their intellectual, social
and emotional development. The Centre provides support to gifted
students, their families and educators through a variety of research,
teaching, professional development and community outreach programs.
Centre for Leadership in Learning
The Centre for Leadership in Learning
provides opportunities for teachers, principals, parents, students and
all education stakeholders to participate in meaningful dialogue about
education. The Centre also models processes and activities that can be
used in a wide variety of educational settings, and provides planning
and facilitation services to educational organizations and groups.
Galileo Educational Network (GEN)
The Galileo Educational Network (GEN)
is a professional development and research organization focused on the
fundamental changes to teaching and learning that come with technology.
The Network�s experts work in schools alongside teachers and students
to create new approaches to engaged learning, technology integration
and professional development.
University of Calgary Applied Psychological & Educational Services
(U-CAPES)
The University of Calgary Applied Psychological and
Educational Services (U-CAPES) offers a range of psychological
assessment, prevention and treatment services to children, adolescents,
adults and families in the Calgary region as well professional
development and research services for government, private and community
groups. Operated through the Division of Applied Psychology, revenue
generated through service delivery is used to fund scholarships to
support graduate students during their practicum and internship
experiences.
