Summer Course Request

On-Campus Bachelor of Education students heading into their final year have the opportunity to request to take EDUC 525: Ethics and Law in Education and/or EDUC 535: Specialization II in the Summer term, preceding the Fall in which these courses are ordinarily taken.

Our Summer course offerings are prioritized for Community-Based and Teaching Across Borders students.* As such, seats are not guaranteed in either class for On-Campus students, nor does gaining a seat in one automatically give a student a seat in the other.

*Teaching Across Borders students SHOULD NOT submit registration requests via this form.

2020 Information

Note I: Summer courses will take place from July 8th to 19th, excluding weekends. Please see scheduled times, below.

Note II: Due to software restrictions on these courses, students will need to log their registration request(s) with the Undergraduate Programs in Education office via the below form to get enrolled.

Note IV: While these courses run over two weeks in July, they are bound by Summer semester dates. As such, students should be aware that the last date to drop these courses without penalty is DATE, the first day of classes. Dropping after this date will incur a 'W', or withdrawal grade, without tuition refund.

2020's Summer course offerings are as follows:

EDUC 535: TIME

EDUC 525: TIME

Students not heading into their final year of 500-level EDUC courses cannot take EDUC 525 or 535 this Summer – if offered, they can only be taken immediately preceding a Fall term of other 500-level EDUCs.

Due to the demand for these courses, students hoping to enroll in one or both of these classes must fill out the below form. Students need also be aware of the following:

1. A seat in the Summer term courses is not guaranteed - it depends entirely upon space availability. Please note that seats in EDUC 535 are particularly limited, and some sections may not be able to accept any On-Campus students;

2. Students should acknowledge that they may have assignments, group-work, papers, etc, due after July 19th, as the Summer term technically runs until the end-of-August;

3. Tuition is due DATE;

4. Students should enroll in the Fall term equivalent of their desired Summer offering in the meantime. Because a seat in the Summer term is not guaranteed, students will want to ensure that they have registered in all 500-level courses mandated. If successful in gaining a Summer term spot, registration will be 'swapped' on the student's behalf. Students who fail to enroll in the most desirable time for the Fall section, and who are unable to be offered a Summer term seat, will have to enroll in whatever Fall section is left: students will not be overloaded into full courses due to 'late' registration;

5. In the instance of more requests received than available seats for a given course, registration offers will be made based on form submission time-stamp (first-come, first-served).

Request Form Opens: Monday, DATE, at TIME

Request Form Closes (Deadline): Wednesday, DATE, at TIME

Late requests will not be accepted.

Students will receive a response about their requested courses at the end of MONTH.
