Undergraduate Programs in Education

Undergraduate Programs in Education (UPE) offers a two-year Bachelor of Education degree (BEd) to prepare professional teachers for the K-12 school system. The degree is offered through two pathways: a Consecutive (After-Degree) Program and a Consecutive (Direct-Entry)Program.

 

Graduate Programs in Education

Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) offers research oriented Master's (MA, MSc) and doctoral degrees (PhD) delivered on-campus as well as professional oriented Master's (MEd, MC) and doctoral degrees (EdD) graduate diplomas and graduate certificates offered off-campus.

 

Professional and Community Engagement (PACE)

The Faculty of Education's Office of Professional and Community Engagement (PACE) was formed to initiate and support the ongoing development of professional and community learning opportunities within Canada and internationally.

 

English for Academic Purposes (EAP)

Programs, seminars and courses related to learning, teaching and research in ESL including the English for Academic Purposes program, and graduate degree, professional development and research opportunities offered through Graduate Programs in Education (GPE).

 

U-CAPES

The University of Calgary's Applied Psychological and Educational Services (U-CAPES) offers high-quality psychological assessment, prevention and treatment services to improve the educational and psychological well-being of children, adolescents, adults and families in the Calgary region.

 

Galileo Educational Network

Galileo Educational Network is an independent, charitable organization that consists of thought-leading educators and a high profile Board of Directors. The Galileo Educational Network creates, promotes and disseminates innovative teaching and learning practices through research, professional learning and fostering external collaborations.

 

Alberta Initiative for School Improvement (AISI)

AISI is a bold approach to supporting the improvement of student learning by encouraging teachers, parents, and the community to work collaboratively to introduce innovative and creative initiatives based upon local needs and circumstances. AISI is characterized by the following 12 attributes.

 

Second Language Studies

Various second language studies initiatives, including teacher preparation or graduate studies in French and other second languages, offered through Undergraduate Programs in Education (UPE) and Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) in partnership with other faculties.
