Dr. Anne McKeough recognized for professional contributions in educational psychology

March 4, 2009 -- Dr. Anne McKeough, a professor in the Division of Applied Psychology at the University of Calgary, has been awarded the Canadian Association for Educational Psychology (CAEP) - Robbie Case Memorial Award for Major Contributions to Educational Psychology in Canada. It will be presented at the Canadian Society for the Study of Education (CSSE) annual conference at

School Psychology in Canada: A Survey of Roles and Functions, Challenges and Aspirations

October 20, 2008 -- Many aspects of the practice of school psychology in Canada are not well defined and likely vary across Canada. A team of school psychology trainers, practitioners, and researchers in the Division of Applied Psychology at the University of Calgary, are interested in the current practices of school psychology in Canada. Guided by the annual survey of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP; Ysseldyke et al., 1997), a questionnaire was customized to examine the state of school psychology in Canada. more>>

U of C doctoral student delivers counselling services to immigrant and refugee youths within their school

Researcher studies the plethora of issues surrounding eating disorders, obesity and addiction

Being fit and healthy has as much to do with how people see themselves, as it does with how much they weigh.

Novel clinic cuts wait times for kids seeking help

Lisa Kindt and her daughter, Sage, were getting to the end of their rope. The nine-year-old girl was having trouble reading, a problem that made it difficult for her to keep up with the other students at her Turner Valley school. An intelligent, energetic girl, it would sometimes take Sage three hours to read a single paragraph. more>>

Payment of Tuition and General Fees

Effective July 7, U of C will discontinue credit cards as a form of payment for tuition and general fees. Online payment options within the Student Centre will no longer be available as of July 7th. Students continue to have online payment options through online banking. more>>

Research Seminars

This year APSY offers new and returning students seminars and colloquia pertaining to research, on Thursdays in TERA (8th floor Education Tower). The research seminars will be offered every second week (12-1 pm) by APSY Students/   faculty members on topics related to preparing for, conducting, and presenting on research. These seminars occur every second week beginning September 11. more>>
